Beginning Quilting Classes

February 23, March 2, 9 and March 16 | 11:30-2:30

Join us to learn the basic steps in choosing fabric, following a pattern, cutting the pieces, sewing the pieces and all the tips and tricks to make a beautiful quilt top.

Our experienced teacher Nancy will guide you step-by-step to make a great quilt top!

Materials you will need for this class:

• Quilt Pattern (this will be provided shortly after you register for the class and you will then be able to purchase the correct amount of fabric and batting)
• Working knowledge of your sewing machine with a quarter inch foot
• A cutting mat, quilt ruler (6" x 18" recommended), pins, safety pins and thread
• Batting 
• Fabric Requirements:
  • 18 10"x10" squares for blocks (a "layer cake" consists of 42 10"x10" blocks - you will have so many choices!)
  • 1 1/2 yards of white (or color of your choice) for blocks
  • 1/2 yard for binding
  • 3 1/2 yards of backing fabric
