By the end of class, you will walk out wearing a stylish, custom-made bucket hat perfect for sunny days ahead.
What You Will Learn:
  • How to cut and assemble multi-piece patterns by Sweet Red Poppy
  • Techniques for sewing smooth, puckering-free curved seams
  • Tips for working with fusible interfacing for structure
  • Methods for creating crisp, professional topstitched brims
Class Details:
  • Duration: 3 hours (single session)
  • Skill Level: Advanced Beginner (Must know how to thread and operate a sewing machine)

Experience Level: For beginners and up! Ages 15+ who have sewing experience and who are familiar with their sewing machine

Supplies to bring:

1/2 yard of fabric of you choice for the main, outer hat

1/2 yard of fabric of your choice for the lining

1/2 yard of SF101 or similar interfacing

coordinating thread

sewing machine

scissors

pins and/or sewing clips

a printed copy of the pattern on 8.5" x 11" paper (make sure the printer is set to print at 100%)

Rotary Cutter

We will provide:

Iron and ironing board

Cutting mats

Outlets for machines

Cancellation Policy 

  • All classes require registration and prepayment. Please check our website for our full class offering.
  • Classes may be canceled for low registration or for events outside of our control (weather, etc.) - if this occurs, a full refund will be offered to any registered participants.
  • There are no refunds for class cancellations. Any cancellations made 72 hours prior to the start of the class will be offered a “class credit” valid for six (6) months. There is no guarantee that the same class will be offered, and class credits are not transferable to store credit.
  • Cancellations made less than 72 hours prior to the class start or no shows will forfeit their registration fees in their entirety.
