Let's get together and embellish/upcycle/ some stuff! Creative gurus Julie Antinucci and Jenn McCaskey of Cottonwood -- who make one of a kind jackets carefully upcycled, embellished and made unique with a personal style! They are holding a workshop to learn some of the techniques they use on their popular jackets and will provide some threads, trims, paints and other items for you to add amazing details to your own jacket—or denim jeans if you’d like!
What you need to bring:
A nicely fitting denim jacket/jeans or denim button down shirt
Fabric Scissors
Some other suggested items to bring:
- A sewing machine -- although you can do a lot without one!
- Threads you love: perle cotton or DMC thread in variegated or metallic or bright colors
- Needles in various sizes
- Fabrics and trims you love
- Old pieces of quilts or other clothing details you want to include in the jacket
- Coordinating buttons, patches, lace, ribbon, pins, etc
- Things you'd like to share with others
- Orphan blocks that never got a home in a quilt or project
- Quilts that need a new purpose in life
- Fabric paint / ink
- Micron pens in various colors
Irons and cutting areas will be provided and shared as a group
