FPP, or Foundation Paper Piecing, or Finally! Perfect Points! It can be intimidating, but it is really just using fabric to color inside the lines. This introductory course will walk you through FPP basics, from printing a pattern to piecing a block you can be proud of. After this class, you will walk away with at least one 6.5" star block (unfinished) and enough confidence to take on more FPP projects.
Materials to Bring:
- Sewing machine, thread, bobbins
- One fat quarter of background fabric
- Three fat eighths of different colors for the star
[Alternative: If you want a scrappy star, none of the color pieces should be smaller than 4" square, and you will need at least 40 scrap pieces.] - Rotary cutter and mat
- Acrylic Quilt Ruler - Should be at least 6" long, width doesn't matter. If you own them, you can bring your Add-a-Quarter or Add-an-Eighth rulers, but they are NOT required.
- Seam ripper (to ward off the bad vibes)
- Water (hydration helps our patience)
Materials Provided:
- Lone Starburst paper piecing pattern
Please note: Working knowledge of your sewing machine is required for this class.
