Create practical, polished, and professional-grade organizers in this ByAnnie Project Bag 2.0 class! You will learn essential bag-making techniques while constructing these structured, zippered bags. They feature clear vinyl windows and sturdy quilted bases to hold everything from sewing notions to puzzles and games.
Prep Work:
Pre-work: Quilt the body of the bag using two fat quarters and an 18” x 22” piece of Soft-n-Stable. Quilting is your choice, busy or simple.
If you are concerned about completing the pre-work, come with all your materials and sewing machine on the Thursday night before the class and Pam will be there to help guide you.
Class Overview
The Project Bags 2.0 pattern by ByAnnie features four sizes (Small, Medium, Large, Jumbo) and includes options for single-fabric or fun pieced bottom borders on larger sizes. We will be making the jumbo bag: 16" x 16".
What You Will Learn
Working with Stabilizer: Learn how to quilt and handle ByAnnie's Soft & Stable for professional bag structure.
Sewing with Vinyl: Master tips and tricks for cutting, pinning, and stitching clear vinyl windows.
Zipper Mastery: Practice inserting zippers between fabric strips, creating zipper retreats, and attaching custom zipper pulls.
Professional Binding: Achieve flawless corners and eliminate raw edges inside the bag.
Handles: Create and attach a sturdy grab-and-go handle for carrying or vertical hanging.
Skill Level
Confident beginner. Participants should be comfortable operating their sewing machine, sewing accurate 1/4" seams, and be familiar with basic quilting or piecing terminology.
Supply List
Pattern: Project Bags 2.0 pattern by ByAnnie available at Cottonwood
Fabric:
- main fabric (base): fat quarter
- lining fabric: fat quarter
- coordinating fabric: half yard (borders, binding, zipper pull, handle)
Stabilizer: Soft & Stable Foam Stabilizer, 1/2 yard
Interfacing: 1/3 yard, SF101 or similar
Window: Vinyl, 1/4 yard or minimum 9 x 16 .5"
Zippers: One 18" or longer single slide zipper
Notions: coordinating sewing thread, fabric scissors, rotary cutter, acrylic ruler, and quilter's pins

Cancellation Policy
- All classes require registration and prepayment. Please check our website for our full class offering.
- Classes may be canceled for low registration or for events outside of our control (weather, etc.) - if this occurs, a full refund will be offered to any registered participants.
- There are no refunds for class cancellations. Any cancellations made 72 hours prior to the start of the class will be offered a “class credit” valid for six (6) months. There is no guarantee that the same class will be offered, and class credits are not transferable to store credit.
- Cancellations made less than 72 hours prior to the class start or no shows will forfeit their registration fees in their entirety.
