Welcome to a creative-energy, hands-on textile art class where all supplies are provided and creativity abounds! Kids will transform colorful fabric remnants into a beautiful Maryland shoreline starring our signature character, Scrappy the Crab. This course focuses on color, texture, and sustainable crafting. Every child will leave with a unique masterpiece to keep or gift to their favorite crab lover!
Ages 7+
Learning Objectives
  • Color Theory: Kids learn to use contrasting colors to make Scrappy pop.
  • Explore Visual Texture: Students layer fabrics and embrace the imperpection of fabric scraps to add visual interest.
  • Practice Spatial Awareness: Children plan a foreground, midground, and background.
  • Develop Motor Skills

About the Teacher

Hello. My name is Patricia. Ever since I can remember, I have had a passion for all forms of art and creativity. When I was a child, I spent hours each day using my imagination sketching, painting, and sculpting. Even today, I still learn something new through art. I would like to pass this love forward to the next generation of creators.

I am a mother of five who enjoys family, art, hiking, gardening, nature, and endurance sports. I hold a degree in Business and Marketing and have spent countless hours volunteering with children and giving back to our community.

I believe every child has the potential to learn and grow with the right mix of exposure and direction. I am dedicated to nurturing not just technical art skills, but also a lifelong love of imagination and self-expression.

Cancellation Policy 

  • All classes require registration and prepayment. Please check our website for our full class offering.
  • Classes may be canceled for low registration or for events outside of our control (weather, etc.) - if this occurs, a full refund will be offered to any registered participants.
  • There are no refunds for class cancellations. Any cancellations made 72 hours prior to the start of the class will be offered a “class credit” valid for six (6) months. There is no guarantee that the same class will be offered, and class credits are not transferable to store credit.
  • Cancellations made less than 72 hours prior to the class start or no shows will forfeit their registration fees in their entirety.
