Keep kids engaged in sewing this summer with a quick, fun, and highly practical group project! In just two 90-minute sessions, everyone will create a colorful "marker roller-up." Led by instructor Nancy Wiswall, this class builds on existing skills in a collaborative, social setting.

About the Class
Looking for a fun way to keep your child’s sewing skills sharp over the summer? Unlike our standard school-year Sewciety Kids curriculum which focuses on individualized progressions, this special summer offering brings everyone together for a single, engaging group project!

In just two action-packed sessions, students will construct a practical and colorful "marker roller-up" to keep their art supplies perfectly organized. Under Nancy's expert guidance, your child will build on the machine and crafting skills they’ve already developed, enjoying the creative process alongside their peers.

What to Expect:
  • Collaborative Fun: Students will work on the same exciting project, fostering a great sense of community and teamwork in the studio.
  • Skill Building: Reinforce machine sewing basics, neat seam techniques, and learn how to create custom pockets and ties. Students are required to take the Sewciety Kids Beginner Workshop. If you have a child interested, but they haven't taken the Beginner Workshop, please let us know and we will try to schedule this 2-hour beginner workshop ($55 fee) before the class.
  • Summer Confidence: A fast-paced, rewarding project that leaves kids with a finished, functional item they can proudly use all year.
  • Skill Level: Advanced Beginner / Intermediate (Builds on previous Sewciety Kids experience)

All fabrics and supplies will be provided for this class.  Students might want to bring a marker pack or crayon pack to be able to insert into their roll up when they are finished!

Cancellation Policy 

  • All classes require registration and prepayment. Please check our website for our full class offering.
  • Classes may be canceled for low registration or for events outside of our control (weather, etc.) - if this occurs, a full refund will be offered to any registered participants.
  • There are no refunds for class cancellations. Any cancellations made 72 hours prior to the start of the class will be offered a “class credit” valid for six (6) months. There is no guarantee that the same class will be offered, and class credits are not transferable to store credit.
  • Cancellations made less than 72 hours prior to the class start or no shows will forfeit their registration fees in their entirety.
